Fjällmaraton Natt is the answer to the question of whether we’ll race the “dream course” in 2024?
To celebrate our 20th edition in 2024 and give those who are all-in on the idea of our dream 45 km route, we’ve created Fjällmaraton Natt, which will be one of two extra special anniversary races this year.
Scheduled for the weekend when we used to organise Fjällmaraton Bydalsfjällen, we’re launching the ultimate interpretation of the dream course:
- Start before dawn alongside the lake on Nordbottenvägen
- Includes the classic 2km “wall” from Sörbottenvallen up Ottfjället
- Meet sunset as you run over the rugged landscape on the top of Ottfjället
- Soak up the views as the route swings down the mountainside towards Östra Vålådalen before a magical stretch of single track along Vålån
- Wade or run through the 800m-long crossing of Ottsjö lake
- In short: 33km pure dream course.
At the finish in Ottsjö, you’ll be met with a luxurious breakfast buffet of local artisan food.

TRANSPORT TO ÅREFJÄLLEN
TRAIN
Take the train to Undersåker station and then we would recommend a taxi in order to reach Trillevallen, Edsåsdalen, Ottsjö or Vålådalen. Phone Taxi Västjämtland +46 647 104 00. For those arriving by night train on the day of the race, there will be a transfer to the start. Transfer will be available for booking two weeks before the race.
FLIGHT
Flights to Åre/Östersund airport or Trondheim/Vearnes airport. A rental car directly from the airport is the best option to reach the race locations.
